Join a chat room
Join a room based on the website you're on
1. Log in to AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Open a website in the browser.
3. Click the Heart icon.
4. Click the option in the menu to chat about the website.
Search for a specific chat room
You can also search for a specific chat room by using the Chat Finder feature.

2. Type the name of the desired chat room in the search box at the top of the window.
3. Click Search.
4. From the chat rooms listed, click the chat room that you wish to enter.
Start your own member or private chat
Member chats are searchable and open to other members. Private chats are not listed in the directory and members will need to know the exact name of your room to join.
1. Log in to AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Click the AOL Chat icon Image of the chat icon..
3. Click Start Your Own Chat.
4. Click Member Chat or Private Chat.
Report a chat user to AOL
If you see content in an AOL Chat that violates the AOL Terms of Service, let us know right away.
1. While in a chat, click Notify AOL. Buttons will appear next to each line of text in the chat room.
2. Using your cursor, select the line of text that's in violation by clicking the button next to it.
3. Click Submit.
Once the timer reaches 0, the Notify AOL button will return and you will be able to submit an additional report.
